Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church is a dynamic, historic congregation of nearly 2,000 members of all ages and backgrounds that has been a vibrant presence in Downtown Omaha for more than 165 years. 

Known as the Nebraska birthplace of Lutheranism, Kountze is proud of its rich history while continuing to grow, serve, and welcome people today. Even with a large congregation, Kountze maintains a close-knit, family-like atmosphere where people can find connection, care, and community.

Whether you are a longtime member, looking for a new church home, or visiting for the first time, you are welcome here. Kountze is part of the Nebraska Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
