Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church

Serve in Our Congregation

At Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church, we believe that every individual has unique gifts and talents to contribute to our community. Serving in our church isn’t just about volunteering; it’s about embracing your role in building a vibrant and supportive spiritual family. We invite you to discover the joy and fulfillment that comes from using your time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others.

Eucharistic Ministers

Provide communion to those in our congregation who are homebound. Each Eucharistic Minister typically visits one or two people once a month.

Flower Delivery

Homebound and hospitalized members and friends receive deliveries of altar flower bouquets following Sunday worship services.

Food Pantry

The Pantry’s mission is simple: feed the hungry. Over the course of the past two decades, the Food Pantry at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church has evolved from a little closet of food into a well-built weekly operation, with more than 70 volunteers serving an estimated 1,200 guests each month. Volunteers and donations are always appreciated. The pantry is open weekly on Mondays from 10 AM to 1 PM and on Fridays from 5 PM to 7 PM.

Food Pantry Garden

Our Pantry Garden provides cucumbers and tomatoes for guests of the Food Pantry. During the summer months, the Food Pantry needs volunteers to pick, sort, and transport produce from our Community Garden to Kountze Memorial.

Good News

We still mail the Good News, our monthly newsletter, to those wishing to receive a hard copy rather than read it online. We have a great group of volunteers who come together to facilitate the newsletter during the last week of each month, but more hands are always welcome.

Sunday School Faith Formation Leaders

As a Sunday School Faith Formation Leader, you can be the difference in our youngest members’ relationship with God. More information on how you can support the children of Kountze Memorial is available by contacting Kristin Boe at kristin@kmlchurch.org. All lessons are scripted, and supplies are provided. Teachers lead on a rotation schedule, allowing for weeks off.
