Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church

Food Pantry

Over the past two decades, the Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church Food Pantry has evolved into a guest-choice haven. With a dedicated team of over 70 volunteers, we now serve over 3,000 guests monthly, with over 40% being children. Our mission is clear: to feed all who enter. The unwavering support from the Kountze congregation, whether through time, talent, or treasure, remains a heartfelt blessing for our hungry neighbors. In this space, everyone is embraced with open arms and welcomed with generosity.

Come and be filled.

Volunteer

The Food Pantry warmly welcomes additional volunteers to join our mission. Assistance is needed during pantry hours and for shopping, collecting bakery goods, and tending to the community garden. If you feel called to contribute, sign up in Meeting Room A at the Fellowship Hall or follow the link below. Your support is not just an offering of time; it’s a compassionate gesture that echoes the spirit of our shared mission.

Donate

The Pantry receives food free of charge from the Food Bank for the Heartland and purchases food from other sources using the Church’s generous donations. Monetary donations marked “Kountze Food Pantry” can be mailed to the church or placed in the offering plate.

If you prefer to shop, the following items are always appreciated:

Unexpired, nonperishable foods in cans, boxes, and plastic jars. (Please, no glass jars.) Pop-top cans–whether for veggies, meat, or fruit–are a plus.

Possible donations may include canned beans, meats (chicken or tuna), vegetables, fruits, and soups/stews; boxes of crackers, granola bars, oatmeal, pasta, rice, and instant potatoes; and plastic jars of peanut butter or pasta sauce.

Community Garden

During the summer months, the Food Pantry seeks volunteers to help pick, sort, and transport produce from our Community Garden to Kountze Memorial. If interested, please contact the Church Office.

God bless all our donors and volunteers! We thank you for your contributions and efforts.
