Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church

Serve Our Community

As devoted disciples of Christ, our hearts find profound joy in being part of meaningful projects that uplift lives and promote social justice. With each act of kindness and generous spirit, we magnify God’s grace, weaving a tapestry of care and compassion within our church and beyond. Here are some of the areas in which God’s work can be seen in action throughout our community.

Endowment

The Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church Endowment Fund expands and enriches the mission of outreach beyond the usual programs, ministries, and congregation-supported work. It serves as a means to extend the impact and reach of the church, going above and beyond the scope of regular offerings and pledges. Capital improvements, community, and synodical ministries, national and global ministries, and Kountze media ministries are specific benevolence and outreach purposes of the fund. Naming the Kountze Memorial Endowment Fund in your will or as a beneficiary of an insurance policy is a gift that continues beyond your lifetime as the Church fulfills its mission of outreach and service around the world.

Food Pantry and Pantry Garden

The pantry’s mission is simple: feed the hungry. Over the course of several decades, the Food Pantry at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church has transformed from a modest food closet into a well-established weekly operation. With a dedicated team of over 70 volunteers, the pantry serves between 3,000 and 4,000 guests each month with approximately one-third being children, ensuring that nourishment reaches those in need. Volunteers and donations are always appreciated.

Pantry Hours:
Monday 10 AM-12:45 PM
Friday 5 PM-6:45 PM

Prayer Shawl and Sewing Groups

The Prayer Shawl group gathers regularly, coming together to knit or crochet shawls with heartfelt intention. These shawls are blessed and given to individuals navigating through challenging moments.

The Sewing Group diligently crafts quilts for Lutheran World Relief, lending their skill and passion to provide warmth and comfort to those in need as well as our high school graduates.
